The Farmers Market Bars have a reputation for unique staff. Many of
the bartenders are permanent fixtures in and around the Market and
have, over the years, gained a loyal following. But, their talents
don’t end there. Cynthia Catania, Jay Souza and
Lucky Islam are all skilled musicians with their own bands and,
when they are not pouring cold beers and fine wine, perform at
venues stretching from LA to NYC and across the pond.
Due to our proximity to Hollywood, no one is surprised to find that
many of Farmers Market Bars staff are actors, too. With performances
in Bay Watch, CSI, and many TV commercials, the bartenders are often
asked for their autographs along with that pitcher of cold beer. On
more than one occasion, customers at 326 Beer & Wine have watched
bewildered as bartender Mike Contrastano, serving up a cold
Coors Light, appears at the same time, on the big screen TV behind
him, in an ad for that very same beer. And, when you see that famous
blonde movie star diving out of a helicopter or riding a motorcycle,
it’s actually EB’s bartender Sara Holden, who’s alter-ego is
an all action stunt woman. Somehow, Sara also finds time to organize
events for Best Buddies, a non profit group that helps people with
intellectual disabilities, and play on an all girl softball team,
The Bad News Betties. The Betties, proudly wear the Farmers Market
Bars logo on their jerseys and regularly hang out at EBs’ after
their games.
Every Thursday and Friday evening Dan Connelly can be found
pouring beers for the large crowds at Bar 326. Despite a busy
schedule, and a starring role in the stage production of Stripped
The Play, Dan found time to train and run in last year’s Boston
marathon, raising a substantial amount of money for cancer research.
Brian Douglas serves up the beer and wine at EB’s every
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night. Quick with a joke and a smile,
folks are often puzzled because they recognize his voice but not the
face. That’s because Brian is the host of one of the most popular
syndicated country music radio shows in the US.
Born and raised in Hollywood, Stacey Leon has no interest in
the media spotlight. Despite her smoldering looks and the countless
acting / modeling contracts offered to her, Stacey is as down to
earth as they come and one of the most professional and efficient
bartenders in town.
If you like live country music be sure to drop by EB’s on a Saturday
night where you’ll find Stacey directing the show and slinging the
beers, decked out in her best sh..-kickin’ cowgirl boots and hat.
When it comes to wine there isn’t much Anne Roberts can’t
tell you. A career bartender and free-lance wine merchant, Anne is a
great asset to the team at Farmers Market Bars, as her loyal
customers will promptly attest.
Longest serving member of the FMB team is Tammy Riennermann,
who is a talented graphic artist with a knowledge of beer to rival
any aficionado. Tammy has seen many changes in and around the
Farmers Market, over the years, and is always ready with a story to
go with your pint of Sam Adams or bottle of cabernet.
One thing is for sure, no matter what else they do, the bartenders
at EB’s and 326 are always committed to excellent service for our
customers and ready to share their knowledge of the very best beer
and wines we have to offer.
Farmers Market Bars are located in the heart of the Fairfax District at Third and Fairfax, just West of the Grove in Los Angeles. |
